Re: Paint Your Wagon - with a roller!
Looking good for one coat. You askd me what colour code mine was and I'd actualy just logged on to finally let you know, although I guess it's too late now. If any one else might be interested in the future, I went for RAL2002. Looking deeper than it did in the first photos I posted, about four coat...

Re: Bristol area - bodywork / electrics please
I was in the same situation as you last autumn and got a few quotes around the Bristol area. I had a load of panels welded in by Mark at V Dub Resto just north of Bristol.... http://www.vdubresto.co.uk/contact.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Seemed like a genuine guy an...

Re: Paint Your Wagon - with a roller!
Thanks Covkid, and thanks for this whole thread and starting the whole thing off. I was getting really fed up with all that rubbing down, especially after having spent a fair bit in having new panels welded in. But after seeing just the one coat it's perked me up again. Keen to get the van back on t...

Re: Paint Your Wagon - with a roller!
Silky - you mentioned having your paint very thin. I know thin coats are the way to go but I was just wondering what sort of ratios your using? As far as I could see from this thread, the colder the weather the less white spirit people are using. This seemed counter intuative to me, but I'm sure the...

Re: Paint Your Wagon - with a roller!
7 days til totally dry sounds great! That way I'll be able to leave it eight or nine days, rub down for a day whilst I'm off in the week and then get my wife painting again at the weekend. She was FAR better at it than me. I knew her art degree would come in handy at some point. :o Tried to post som...

Re: Paint Your Wagon - with a roller!
I've a question for any of you folks out there that are painting your vans at the moment or have recently in this colder weather.... Now I know now arguably isn't the best time to be painting the van, but due to a recent house move and pending extension/renovation work together with the van failing ...

Re: How noisey are propex/eber heaters?
Martin - thanks very much for taking the time to write that. Very informative and exactly the sort of thing I was after.
Think I'm probably leaning towards the Propex. They also look a little smaller than the ebers on the whole.

Does that mean that yours is mounted outside? I thought that would lead to serious corrosion issues.

Re: How noisey are propex/eber heaters?
The van runs on lpg 99% of the time so I'm obviously drawn to the propex. Even if I don't link it in straight away it's always an option later. How hard is it to link into the lpg fuel tank? I should probably do a search on that question before blindly asking!

How noisey are propex/eber heaters?
Up to now the wife and I have always gone down the warm clothes/duvet/tea/cuddling and alcohol route of keeping warm in the van over the winter months. However we've just got a new member of the family, a 3 month old Pointer named Dave. With his short hair he's not one for the wet/cold. I know as he...
