thinking about replacing my 16" alloys with 14" standard steels ive seen some brand new ones for £340 with tyres and centre caps from just kampers and have a few questions firstly is this expensive and secondly my 16" rims look lost in my arches on the van so has anyone got pics of standard steels on their van ? thanks jeff

Re: standard steels
I bought four steels for a tenner the other week, three of them have even got legal tyres on. OK they're not new, but I think I can give them a lick of paint for less than £330 .

Re: standard steels
I picked up a set of 14" VW Carats from eBay a few weeks ago that came in cheaper that the £330. They are slightly wider wheel and are a lot better looking than the steelies.
This is all new to me, please be gentle. 1989 Reimo High Top Conversion, manual 5-speed, 2.1 petrol.

Re: standard steels
have you got the correct tyres on the 16's ?
should be 205 or 215/60 X 16"
with 16's
without
same van by the way not lowered
There should be no difference in diameter if you have the right tyres on

Re: standard steels
They should have been changed to long studs for the alloys.
you may have to remove the studs and use the proper bolts.
Don't forget to remove the spacers.
The tyres on the alloys were 22 mm to small for the spec diameter.

Re: standard steels
hi jeff make shure the wheel bolts your usiing on your alloys are radiused fitment if you want to re use them with the steels , as they could have been changed to tapered fitment to suit your alloy wheels the extra length will not be a problem as it just bolts into the front disc hub,
