That does indeed sound like a plan!! Alternatively, I could graft in a short piece of extra metal pipe of the same size and tap it for a second sender there. Choices, choices lol

Ba-doing! Quick update for Wellie and anyone else interested I went to the scrappie and got a replacement temp sender (free said the scrappie, as I also picked up a set of springer forks for a chop project I've got on the go, which he sold me at a very reasonable price) and popped it into the glow-plug circuit. I'd also made sure all the wiring was done up correctly and attached to the correct bits of other wiring hanging around doing nothing. All the earths were done up properly. Result - glow-plug cycle now functioning absolutely correctly!! Yay!!
Next job - swap over the original 1.6 diesel box for the DK currently sat on my garage floor.... I may wait until after Oktoberfest to try that
