We had a great day. Thanks to Ady for arranging it and everybody else for turning up. It' was great to meet you all.
I can't believe how well these vehicles perform off road. I'll have a lot more confidence for wilding camping off the beaten track now.
Last night I spent a couple of hours cleaning the inside of my van, what a complete waste of time. It's now covered in mud and water!
Only regret is not taking more pics.

Hi Folks
Had a great day out yesterday. My first trip off road, great fun and met some great people. Link to some photos that you should be able to download. Will work on doing a bit of video but be warned it won't be in Jeds league. Thanks to all for friendly advice and help. Unfortunately for you guys you will definitely see me again.
Cheers Rich

What a great day, couldn't have asked for better weather.
The turn out was great and really made the day extra special, lots of comments were made from the first timers on the syncro comradery making them want to come again.

It was our first time out on the lanes and we had a thoroughly great day. Big thanks to Ady for organising and also to everyone for being so patient and helpful when my Doka's electrics packed up (4 times). Didn't know anyone but was made to feel very welcome and we'll definitely be back. Good to see so many people bring the kids along too, my two loved it and it's nice to see them making new friends and wanting to play with things that haven't got an 'i' in front of them.
Due to my truck repeatedly packing up I wasn't going to do the last watersplash but when the 6 year old sitting next to you calls you a wuss...
What this day has done is highlight a few neccesities:
Waterproof my electrics properly
Get more ground clearance
Fix the exhaust blow
Fit a new clutch (which started slipping on the way home)
Convert it to diesel
Buy a syncro camper

The main problem I had was water and mud coming through the cab door rubber and running into the back of the van. Pull all the matting out today and hosed most of it out, So glad I don't have a camping interior fitted, yet.

Cracking Job Ady and top marks for kicking it off. Had a great day and good to meet so many newcomers.
Patrick, trust you got back OK....the oil pressure warning light and alarm continued to interupt the CD player
and we eventually got back around 4 hours later than expected.....courtesy of a fine RAC fellow and eventually a Hintons transporter. Thankful it happened while we could watch the world go by on a roundabout on the A350...as opposed to a top of the Salsibury plain.......in the dark.
Worthy of note we asked if it had happened while we on a byway? Apparantly they would send a low loader AND a Landy (perish the thought) to tow you to the transporter for the recovery
Not sure if I would want to test that though?.... Greenlane with a friend I would say....even if it has to be a Landy!
