No worries, be good to meet you too, been following your project with interest. Rather than a PM 'cause others maybe interested. Neil? if you are reading, any comments?

Re: Syncronauts Programme 2011
SN Committee looking at a final event circa 23/24 Sept or last w/e in Sept..
Expressions of interest please
Current suggestion is a mix of touring and laning in the Oxfordshire area down to the Ridgeway on the M4... so suitable for families and anyone wanting a gentle day out exploring some of Oxon and Wilts, and possibly lanes in Gloucs
Accessible from M4/M5 failry easily as well as from London area... could be a Saturday, long Sunday or both with camping.
I (though maybe not others) are keen on linking som lanes up to some ancient British sites such as Rollright, Uffington, Dragon Hill and Avebury... if you have never been to such 5,000 year old sites, then maybe nows the time to take a looksee and wander around - linked with lanes. Could just about be done in one day
Alternative would be S.Wales borders, say the Wye valley
Anyway, will be talking further to Doug, Aidan and Peter Weide about routes and tracks

Let us know what sounds good for late Septemeber

Re: Syncronauts Programme 2011
Definately interested, will have to see if I'm working the Saturday, hopefully not...
The byway that runs past avebury is nice (as in easy, maybe a lot harder if been raining as its very rutted). I did it on my own and camped on it too. You also drive past one of the white horses and a castle who's name escapes me. I'll have a look this afternoon and see if I'm working.

If you are thinking of part fo the Ridgeway, I'd probably against driving it, as I have ridden it (Mountain bike) and much has been destroyed by off roaders and bikers.. but will look at anything legal of course (legal parts of Ridegway grossly overdriven to a silly extent)
Question really is... are people wanting a mixed lane/touring more family type event than heavy laning or fixed site.
e.g. more like a treasure hunt, hey, we could even do a bit Geo Caching

Re: Syncronauts Programme 2011
i drove it from the A4 by Avebury to Barbury castle, which is where we stayed the night. That section at least is legal from spring to autumn.
the mixed laning, touring/sightseeing, geo caching would be a winner with my family

Re: Syncronauts Programme 2011
I'm interested in a Sat or a Sun and even a Sat+Sun, but not a Fri or a Mon. Some non-fluffy easy going laning, sightseeing and touring would hit the spot for me. Any of the suggested locations sound interesting.

Re: Syncronauts Programme 2011
We'll check out some Glos lanes on the bikes on Sunday if we can, then before the event, Patrick how about you and us doing a day out and test them in the vans for real.
The truck is up and running with a 1.6 Non turbo (thanks again Clive) just hope you don't need any serious towing, It hardly has the power to help it self let alone others Anyhow just bought a Golf with an AAZ in it so Autumns project awaits.
Preference would be more Laning than Touring.
.....and what is a fluffy lane? by definition "fluffy" means soft easy going. Patrick... "Some non-fluffy easy going laning" is that not a contradiction?

OK, last w/e then if we do it...
Tom, what do you think of the options.. ? Heavy laning centric day Or a mix of socialising/touring/some lanes and chilling on hilltops taking i the view (thermos or beer in hand
One or two days, this will depend what Peter and Patrick can come up with maybe
