Rear Wheel Bearing Type
For the last ten years my T25 has had an advisory of slight play in rear wheel bearings. It has never failed but it would be nice to sort it out if it is easy. I see the inner bearing is a ball race but the outer is only ever referred to as a roller bearing. Simple question! Is it a taper roller bearing and as such can I tighten it slightly? Or is it a plain roller bearing, in which case I will live with the advisory!!

Re: Rear Wheel Bearing Type
It’s not an adjustable taper roller , check its torqued to spec but they are built with an amount of play to allow for expansion when hot , an amount of play is normal
Re: Rear Wheel Bearing Type
A lot of MOT places are not aware that as David says there should be slight movement. I have had to point this out on a couple of previous MOT's.

Look at the MOT history of any T25 nowadays and you'll see this same advisory, testers aren't familiar with them anymore.
There's a fair bit of play in them by design, unless they are noisy when rotated, I wouldn't worry.

Re: Rear Wheel Bearing Type
Take it for a 30 min run before you go in.
1, the bearings will heat up & expand and won’t wobble so much
2, your emissions won’t be rich either as you’ll be fully off choke.
