AAZ diesel pump

Post by morganite »

Hi, the AAZ diesel pump i’m using on my engine conversion has been on the donor engine, standing for about a year, it turns ok but i,m a bit worried it might be a bit gummed up inside. If i bought a gasket and seal set, is it a job i could do myself? or get it sorted by a specialist? what is a ballpark price for this kind of work? and could anyone recommend a diesel specialist that’s not a ripoff, if i have to go down that road, Many thanks

£600 plus to get a diesel specialist to rebuilt it , it’s not a quick job to do it properly, has the pump be stored full of fuel?

Re-seal os possible DIY, but quite a precision job.

The main advantage of the professional job is to check the internal parts for wear (and being able to replace them) and to calibrate the pump on the end.

That’s not a full overhaul price , that’s a re-seal and check everything is within spec price , a rebuild rather than a full recondition

It won’t be “gummed up” it will be rusty inside , that will mean the potential of new major components required, some are difficult to get hold of and expensive
