Steering wheel doesn't sit right

Post by AlBundy »

Hi everyone,

I had to replace the key barrel recently as the old one was worn and kept falling out, which all went fine, but since putting it back together I haven't been able to get the steering wheel back on quite even, so the horn doesn't work.

I have tried replacing the spacer to see if that was the problem, but that didn't work.

Pictures of how it sits now attached.

Any ideas for how I can fix this, and could it be more serious, like the steering column being bent?

Many thanks in advance. ImageImageImage

So the steering wheel wont sit down onto the spline correctly ?
Have you pushed the steering column down too far ? You can make it move in the rubbers , try pulling it up

I assume by spacer you mean the black one under the steering wheel, not the plastic column support ring? Is the lock housing seated properly on the support ring or maybe the ring is missing....any movement up and down on the wheel/column?
