Thinking of doing my own upgrade just on the rear to cope with the extra weight of the EG33 H6 engine, last time it was in the multivan the rear looked lower than the front so i bought some heavy duty vw shocks but the info from the vw parts listing seem to say the heavy duty shocks are for the taller standard height springs , im not sure they will work with the 30mm lower set up.

You could just shim the top spring perch with some home made spacers etc as I'm sure you've seen done. I've got about 4cm of spacers on the back to bring it up, and possibly 3 on the left rear to compensate for the cabinetry weight inside. My front is a bit lower though which I'd like to solve someday.

Sounds good will have to look into that, the full height springs would compress with the weight but could still look too high.

Incase anyone is interested or doing the same, I went with the Schwenk springs. I bought them straight from Schwenk they cost me £450 which was around £390 plus £60 customs and they arrived within the week, which I thought was pretty good.

It was no wonder the ride was bad before, both of the AVO rear springs were snapped and the spring seats on the trailing arm were totally destroyed and the rear shocks were knackered. The front shocks were also pretty bad.

I have replaced all of the bushing with powerflex, except for the radius rods which are just standard and put on some Bilstein b6s.

I took it out for a test drive last night, hitting the speed bumps hard and it just laps them up, much better than our car. Still need to see how it does on the motorway in high winds.

Next job is wheels and tyres, going to fit some AT tyres, debating whether to paint the current 16 7j merc alloys black for a better choice of tyres or to get some 15" steelies

i asked the question if they supplied powerflex bushes and although they are not listed on their site they can get them for you at a reasonble reduction in price ( better than powerflexes own site) speak to Zakir at bilstein a very very helpfull person
