Afternoon all,
Jumped into the van today and it normally starts on the button every time, but today no no orange glow plug light, turns over but won’t fire, been in the back and checked the big strip fuse, it’s ok, and checked there is power there and that’s fine, I’ve done a bit of research and I’m thinking 103 glow plug relay, not if I should buy one to eliminate, it’s a 1.9 TDI 1z. Any extra advice would be very much appreciated.
Cheers Steve

Is it e-tdi? Are there any fault codes in the ecu?
It should start even glow plugs are not working.
The fuel shutoff solenoid or its wire might failed. Does the ecu has power and ground?

Hi,
It’s got an ecu, but never been pugged in to a diagnostic and I’ve had it over 10 years the conversion was done in Germany, there is a plug in the left box where the fuse and glow plug relay is, battery is flat now so on charge tonight, when you switch the ignition on, no orange light, turns over fine and fuel ok, it’s parked in a bad position up against a bloody wall so can only get in to the drivers door and just get to the boot to the engine bay (nightmare) apart from looking for fault codes anything else I can do, might buy a 103 relay, is it common for them to go?

My money would be on a bad (crusty) connection inside the round engine wiring connector-Good place to start.
