Is it possible to use a mk6 golf or similar age vw accelerator pedal

Ive currently got the mk3 golf style throttle position sensor in the engine bay pulled via the original cable and pedal. I know people have used mk4 golf pedals and sharan pedals.
I am wondering if its possible to use one the later floor mounted pedals as i think it would work a lot better.
The reason for wanting it upfront is that on my last trip i kept losing throttle response due to water ingress and it is very stiff and not smooth through the revs.

Please can someone help

This Samba topic says you can use some kind of that pedal assembly on an AHU ecu.

if you have a fly by wire engine then you can experiment with different fly by wire accelerator pedals but it is likely that resistances, and relative positions will vary between different engine ecu and vehicles. Over the years different people have experimented with different set ups but afaik there isn't a definitive list of solutions out there.

Unfortunately the samba thread doesn't answer the question.
There is a video using a mk4 pedal under the front which looks good
