Fuel expansion tank lines

Post by grayzer1 »

Hi am I right in thinking that the top fuel line from expansion tank goes right across and connects to the other tank? All 3 lines on my nearside tank are disconnected and can't find were top one goes to. Also if cant get it reconnected will van be OK to drive as long as don't fill tank to brim?

Yes there is a balance pipe across the top of the tank which is clipped to the body. Access is awkward to push the pipe into the grommets, hand between battery box and chassis and a prybar to help push them in, lube them with vaseline or grease, if the grommets have been pushed into tank or spigots are broken on the cross pipe then it's a tank out job, fire risk if petrol and you don't want to be the person spilling diesel on the road

Hi,

It does depend on what engine you have but I would say yes, ignore the charcoal filter T in the picture below.

Hope this helps.
