Windscreen wiper problem

Important trip this weekend and out of the blue the wipers are dead as a door nail. Fuse 17 OK for a start and washer pump running. I have Bentley's and Haynes but to save time has anyone any tips on checks and access without removing dash?

Check fuse 11, and that it has power with the ignition switched on.

Thanks for that folks. I was up with the birds this morning with a plan to chase the problem from the fuse (11 as BH indicated). I unplugged the the wiper switch connector and located the 12V which I felt needed grounding for the motor to function. Bentley's and Haynes seemed to conflict over wire colours. In any case grounding this did not energise the motor. So I determined that the motor was open circuit. Not wishing to take the dash to bits I peered up under the glove box area to find the motor socket with nothing plugged in and the miscreant cable/plug hanging down close by. Once plugged in the wipers working again. It should have needed the little tang thing to be pushed in to release it so I guess it has been on a wing and a prayer ever since last inserted.
anyway job jobbed :ok
