What do you call a combined switch and sensor then - I have one on my boat engine. :lol: :lol: swensor, senitch?

Hiya, should clarify, it's definitely not a DOPS system. The two switches that failed were:

1- a VDO switch I had installed in preparation to put in an oil pressure gauge but never got round to putting guage in :/ perhaps that's a sender because it actually sends a variable voltage to the guage? I do actually need to confirm that the terminal for the light connection is normally closed (the wiring diagram seems to suggest it).

2- a new blue, basic switch from BW that was intended to replace/troubleshoot the above switch/(sender?).

Still seems flukely bad luck that the replacement part should be faulty, but hey ho!

Hopefully once I get my hands on a replacement blue switch I will be able to proceed to next step and crank etc! Hopefully there won't be any airlock issues but.will bear in mind.

Words, we all use them but when we get the wrong one it could end up with wars :shock: ,well a non -functioning machine maybe.
