What do you call a combined switch and sensor then - I have one on my boat engine. swensor, senitch?

Hiya, should clarify, it's definitely not a DOPS system. The two switches that failed were:
1- a VDO switch I had installed in preparation to put in an oil pressure gauge but never got round to putting guage in :/ perhaps that's a sender because it actually sends a variable voltage to the guage? I do actually need to confirm that the terminal for the light connection is normally closed (the wiring diagram seems to suggest it).
2- a new blue, basic switch from BW that was intended to replace/troubleshoot the above switch/(sender?).
Still seems flukely bad luck that the replacement part should be faulty, but hey ho!
Hopefully once I get my hands on a replacement blue switch I will be able to proceed to next step and crank etc! Hopefully there won't be any airlock issues but.will bear in mind.
