Bad day at the office

In a rush, had a case bored for 98mm and ultrasonic cleaned without a proper inspection.

Cleaning exposed:
1. A Timesert
2. An oversize M14 repair stud
3. A rotten oil drilling plug
4. Some pitted studs. One of which didnt want to play, even with heat...

1 & 2 mean very marginal sealing for the barrel O-rings and could result in a warranty claim, 3 is very sketchy anyway and 4 was the final straw. Its scrap.

Start again...ImageImageImage

Oh dear, I feel your pain, Ian!
On the brighter side, at least you hadn't built it, only to find a head stud pulling out of a dodgy helicoil at the 50Nm stage. Grrrr!!!
I now test torque an old head onto empty barrels before I start the build.

Almost certainly a lawnmower stud.
