Hi

Is the heater control valve on an early CS diesel systems usually on the feed pipe or return pipe side of the matrix, and how do I know which is which on the matrix please ?

The valve is in the input hose. If you have the original hoses you can see by the reach of the hoses how they fit on the matrix, but it doesn't actually matter which way the flow goes through the matrix.
