The Pirrburg 2e3 carburettor on the YouTube demonstration has two brass inlet/outlet pipes. My carburettor is different it has only one brass inlet/outlet pipe, and a vapour canister. The vapour canister seems to have 3 inlet/outlets. This is the carburettor that I am cleaning up to use in starting my engine before fitting it to the van.how does it work ?, Or have I the wrong carburettor.philmcC

What part number is stamped on the side? It should be 025 129 015 (usually with a letter after it as well).

Worked out that the grey plastic container is a vapour canister. The inlet at the top is from the fuel pump there is a return line to the fuel tank out of the side and the carb is gravity fed from the bottom outlet. That explains only one inlet on the carburettor body. I have fitted the new accelerator pump injector and am moving on.philmcC

Ah, that's good to know. I've never seen the vapour canister before.

vapour canister is syncro specific the carb is suffix D early or M later, jetting is same as equivalent year 2wd from what I can see in the parts list
