Has anyone any knowledge/history of using a CU Aircooled 2.0 points distibutor SVDA 034 on a 1.9/2.1 wbx instead of the electronic amplified system?.
Cheers chaps.

why would you want to?

DG are not so hard to find second hand but DJ are hens teeth
Im pretty sure you could fit a twin vac can to a DG dizzy and use it on a DJ

of course lots of people running a DJ withit the Digijet injection and on a DG carb and dizzy.

Yup, best avoided. Having to check/reset points (even with a dwell gauge) is a job that gets tedious.

On a long trip overseas I take a spare amplifier, a spare dizzy and a spare coil.

I take a starter motor and an alternator too!

I take most spares from the Digijet system which is hard to fault find at the side of the road.

all but the starter and alt fit in a plastic toolbox which gets shifted into the drivers footwell when I camp

yes you can bet the bit that failed won't be what I have but it makes me feel better.

CU engines always had DVDA electronic distributors so assume you mean the replacement Powerspark type SVDA distributors which are a generic type of distributor. If you want that route then the electronic ignition version would be better. I carry one as a spare already timed up with a clamping bracket attached.
