Hi all.

My vac adavance has packed up on my wbx dg engine.

Brickwerks was the only place I could find that sell them, but they are out of stock with no future date.

Anybody know where I can find one please?

didn't actually realise you could buy these separately from a distributor (thought they were complete units).

never been happy that mine (on my 1.9 wbx petrol) has 2 pipe thingys on it (one with a pipe - one without) - might just change it to one of these once & for all.

Having done a little more research online... limited about this subject.

It seems there maybe slight differences in resistance of the diaphragm? So what I have bought may look identical but could be easily for a pre79 Aircooled.

Powersprak could not help me with this to be honest.

Does anyone know anymore on this subject?

I've had the Powerspark one on my DG for a couple of years now and it works just fine. There's a few other members on here who have one as well.

I've used one these too, and it's absolutely fine. There was some discussion (and some measurements) in my engine build thread (round about here), and I think the conclusion was that it's not noticeably different from the original unit. Vacuum advance disappears at wide open throttle (because the vacuum port gets exposed to atmospheric, or rather 'air filter', pressure when the throttle flap opens), so vacuum advance is a 'cruising economy' issue, and the total vacuum advance of the Powerspark unit is very similar to the original unit.

For some reason when I open this on my phone it brings me to their home page that’s why I didn’t ask for specific vac unit. I opened it on my laptop and it’s the one I picked up which is handy so thank you

Thank you for information.... their is a little conflicting info online so I wasent sure.

Also a lot cheaper than the Bosch units

I've been fitting these for a few years now - I buy them by the dozen (and only ever had one fail prematurely). Performance is indistinguishable from original, it just works and can be fitted in situ in a couple of minutes.

As above^^^^^^^^^, put one on my van earlier this year-all good.
