Click on this link for the booking form: http//syncronauts.org.uk/syncropendence ... king-form/

Camping for Friday and Saturday is included in the vehicle price, but there is the option of Sunday night camping on the farm and some people will possibly be staying on in Wales for an extended holiday/lane driving (this depends on whether there is enough interest) until CamperJam the following weekend, where the Syncronauts have their own camping area.

Please note that this is not a campsite - it is wild camping in a farmer's field with no facilities.

I shall bring the trophy for its inaugural presentation (get those votes pm'd to me everyone!) but will almost certainly spend all of Saturday out walking over the hills with a certain dog.

Side matter: I hear tell that CJam is going to be a strictly park-up affair this year with no quarry rides for the public?

Apart from voting for you, Ian; for the construction and presentation. May I ask; what will a Syncronaut member need to vote on?

Suggestions ASAP, ladies and Gents to prevent this from happening. As I see it, and to put it frankly, a limited amount of drivers come forward every year to drive the course and ferry passengers. Rather shocking as it is always the same few that drive.

Step up volunteers and let's crack on.

An incentive (I haven't checked but...) there isn't a financial sting such as BF for displaying the capabilities of your vehicles

Gutted we can’t make this. Niece has decided to get engaged and big family bash the same weekend :(

Enjoy all.

You should check with Si what the situation is. AFAIK lack of potential drivers, and difficulties for others to be ready in time, have led to a gap year being suggested this time around, with full service scheduled to return in 2019. I believe CJ have also been informed of this.

Sharon: the Goblet of Mire is an "unbelievable bad luck/epic perseverance/how the f### do they always manage to do that" sort of award ;)

PS I only found out about the CJam situation the other day when I txt Si to say that Hockenheim had been cancelled, so would be available if needed.

What do people think about having a “punch hunt”?

Teams navigate to various positions in order to locate a punch which is used to punch a card, indicating that the punch was found. It is complicated by the punches being in difficult to reach places and the punches must be punched with the card being on a long tether inside the van and not removed. It requires ingenuity and cunning, skilful driving and a determination.

Punch positions are indicated by a grid square which puts you in the vicinity, but you must then search for the punch.

If there’s enough interest, we are happy to organise it.

The punch hunt is a great idea...I seem to remember Roger organising the last one and really enjoyed competing in it

Yes.. good idea to revive this which we've done 3 times now.
Think best fun was when French visited... they loved it!
Have to be aware of dangers of pax leaning out of vehicles in precarious positions. Best kept within a fairly well-defined space maybe?
We have 'orienteering punch kit' but not sure how complete it is.l and think maybe at Aidan's.
Possibly best to order a complete new kit and SN will reimburse.

Would like to see James' trailer reversing trial happening !

Ok, I’ll order one.

Jim is still planning bring his trailer I believe and Ben is bringing some sheep hurdles to define obstacles such as “garage” etc.

Sadly we will be missing Syncropendance this year as we have some good friends back from New Zealand that weekend and driving may be :D out of the questions.

Any word on who's hanging around in the week between SP and Camperjam? Haven't booked either yet but I'm up for it and do a nice trip of the Welsh coast and snowdonia. Who is staying in Wales for the week?

Are 4x4 trucks allowed at SP?

I should think it might be a bit on the big side for going up the mountain but it should get through the gate OK in the camp area. My Westy is parked up resting until after our summer trip in the Managon this year so will not be usable for SP.
