Alternator advice needed !!!

Hi all my van broke down last night !! Engine just stopped and would not restart battery flat as a pancake !! AA man said alternator was knackered only giving off 9. whatever volts so taken alternator off to order a new one (about the limit of my mechanic knowledge!) Had a look on brickwerks and jk problem is the part number on my alternator brings up a 90 amp one but the bosch label on my alternator says 65amp !!!! Also noticed i can buy just a volt reg pack (lot cheaper) does this sound like might fix the problem ? As always any advice given is appreciated

Sorry forgot to say its on a 1.6td jx if that helps late model

Yup, swap the regulator pack out first. Its only two screws.

Just ordered reg pack see if that works !! If anybody knows about 65/90 amp part number thing would still love to know ! Thanks for the advice

Fitted new volt reg pack and a new fan belt and all is good !! Thanks for the advice
