TDi conversion??

Folks,
My bro has just called and offered me his 2005 1.9 tdi (130) Passat highline for parts as he has bought a new motor and the 'stealers' trade in value is a pittance.
My bus is currently running a 2.0 CU engine which is running reasonably well and sounds fantastic but its not exactly efficient and I want to eventually use it as my daily driver.
So what I need to know is............can this models engine/gearbox be transplanted to the T25 or better still, has anyone else converted their bus to an oil burner using the same engine?
The Passat also has a fully heated leather interior so nice warm bums, has a decent of alloys and god knows what other plethora of bits and pieces I can scavenge in the process of dissection.
Any advice/guidance or spiritual awakenings greatly received and very much appreciated.
