Morning

What would be the recommended way to tackle the rust below?

Image

It's been this way for about 3 years now and never got any worse from when I bought the van as I vactanned it immediately upon purchase... I know its a window out job but other than welding is there any way to repair it? I spoke to a body shop and he said I might get away with liquid metal / sand and paint...

Any thoughts?

I have the same problem. Rear drivers side window. Its got a lot worse, as now I have discovered the curtains are gettuing wet, so the rain is comming in. I guess taking them out is the only solution. Any advice?

Cut out the rust , knock down the edges and fill with aluminium mesh and fiberglass. Finish with a bit of body filler.

Whs ^^^ you'll need to cut the rust out, if you weld in new steel it will be a permanent repair so either find someone who can weld or teach yourself as many have done on here.

I'm learning to weld (onto level 2 mig) but thought something like this could just be filled. I hadn't thought of fibreglass etc but its a good idea.

What about something like this, after removing rust, seems moldable too: https://www.amazon.co.uk/UniBond-Repair ... B0001P14CM
