Smoking JX- MOT failure

Morning, Thought I would share a little bit of info regarding my recent trip to get Dotty MOT'd.
I know this has been mentioned before about smoking issues but mine was solved relatively easily.
Dotty has been using oil and smoking for a while now and failed miserable on the emissions.
Spoke to my mechanic who has worked with the JX before and insisted that the engine was not terminal and that it was overfueling.
A new set of injectors later and she sailed through the MOT. Phew.
So if your JX is smoking, the injectors may be worn and at fault. :ok

Why did you wait for an MOT to do the work? , surely if it was smoking that bad for a while you could have fixed it earlier, think of all the people who drove behind you who had to inhale the smoke

They’re just jealous, wishing they had an engine that was as easy to fix! We all know the JX is the pick of the bunch...

That's very interesting as mine is just starting to do that and I'm due for my annual test on Monday, no time to get the injectors sorted before then as it's first thing Monday.
Looks like my fingers and toes will be crossed.
Hopefully a chat with my soon to be friendly specialist mechanic will be in order.

Not to mention carburettors, ignition amplifiers, corrosion, leaky seals, push rod leaks, and hilarious fuel consumption.

But a lovely sound...
