Not seen one for sale in the year we’ve been looking but been offered one today. Looks pretty smart, researched and fell in love with the interior and styling and it’s a 2.1. Looks like it could be worth chasing. Should the slight rarity add much value? Any recommendations on buying one or things to look out for? I’m struggling to find much about them when compared to other conversions. Any help here would be greatly appreciated!

The interiors in them a pretty fragile.
They had quite a bit of moulded plastics/composites.
Looked great back in the day, much more modern than the wood/melamine interiors that most converters were using at the time... Unfortunately, over the years, these material's became very, very brittle.
Many have got broken interior parts, and replacing them back to original spec, is pretty much impossible.
So, if the seller is trying to ask for more money due to rarity, and the interior needs work, you may have a negotiating lever, because originality will definitely be lost when you install a replacement.
If you can find one in nice original condition, they are a really nice conversation.

Thanks guys! Any thoughts on a price? It’s recently been resprayed, no mention of how well or if it was bare metal.apllicances need servicing before use and the inside just needs a bit of a clean he said. Seems genuine, wasn’t what we had in mind but it’s quite an interesting thing!

Hi I owned one almost 10 years ago now it was a low mileage example and the interior was falling to bits .the units are made of plastic and it cracked with age the wooden doors were like crumbling digestive biscuits and the fibreglass roof was disintegrating and leaking like a sive and you can't get spares' . Save yourself the hassle and get a westy

If you are serious take a careful look around where the plastic roof joins th original roof.
Most are only held on by rust.
