Westfalia - no gas supply to leisure system

Hello, Our 85 Westy leisure system has decided to stop supplying gas to the cooker and fridge. Does anyone know why this might happen all of a sudden? The engine runs on LPG too, the gas supply to it works fine. The leisure tank fills up whilst filling main tank and the main tank is full but there seems to be nothing getting to the cooker. This happened recently, during Autumn. Never had a problem before.

Well always start with the obvious...there will be a tap (valve) somewhere in the line that supplies the domestic side, check that hasn't been inadvertently turned off. Start at the tank and work towards the 'appliances' checking everything. If it is a single filler for both tanks there will be some extra valves and gubbins in that system to get the gas / liquids to the correct pressure for where they're going, perhaps somewhere in there is a 'fail safe' that has shut off the supply.

Ok, Thanks for your reply LeeME3 but this has gone to worse missing out bad! I topped up the LPG today after my original post, still no supply to the cooker. Went to check the valve on the undercarriage, had a little feel around regulator and started to hear a hissing sound. Then a smell of gas and white patch appeared on the tank itself with visible gas leaking from the the seam where the cylinder of the tank is capped. The rust has obviously got to the weld. Worried this might get worse very quickly, I spoke to someone who then advised I called the emegerncy services, the right thing to do. I live next door to a school and when does this all happen? 15.15pm of course!!! Fire team spent a couple of hours here surpressing and patching the leak so that it is minimised. I now have to have the the leisure tank removed and disposed of? Does anyone know of a company that could deal with the disconnection and removal and disposal of the tank safely, urgently? In the Manchester area

I've been in contact with Gasure. Unfortunately, this is not something they can deal with. It seems this needs to be done by a specialist who can remove and dispose of the tank, in situ. I've phoned a few places but they all seem to only deal with install and maintenance. UKLPG seems to have few registered installers, tomorrow will be spent phonning in seach of the christmas spirit, good will and peace £££

Andy at CamperShack (Lincolnshire) is a gas guru and does leisure tanks as well. However he is ludicrously busy (cos he's darn good) and it sounds like you've got a bit beyond needing a quick fix!

When I said start with the obvious I was wrong to go straight to a valve - clearly 'check for leaks anywhere' would have been better advice! Still, you obviously did the right thing, good on you and good luck getting it sorted.
