Dooooohhhhhhhh

No easy way of saying this but you will probably have to have that spark eroded out and that probably means stripping the bottom end.

anybody who says you can weld a nut on has probably never tried to do it or never tried the corner studs.

Don't worry though because the bottom end is arguably easier than the top end.

I always put dirko on both sides of the water jacket seal, your water jacket is badly corroded, was never going to seal without dirko.

need a MV/DJ cam for a 2.1 that's more expensive than the crank and pistons put together unless you go 3 rivet Aircooled.

if you want that early crankcase back just shout, no use for a 2.1 but you could rebuild the 1.9 into it with new main bearings and do a 2.1 at leisure, all the head studs are good just needs the alternator mount sorting if I remember.

Got my Caravelle DG case back from its holiday today, forgot how good it was. We are back in business...

Bit of machine shop work for the alternator bracket studs and one of the rods, but other than that, should be ok.

Dropped off the case at a fine machine shop. They refurbished our water pump spare 3 years ago. Fair prices for good work. They will plug weld the horrendous alternator holes, which should be M8 threaded holes and start again.

if it won't split you probably missed a nut or bolt or several
they can sometimes be stuck but rarely
lever at the lifting eye above crank.pulley whete you won't damage anything

Best £84 quid I ever spent. New alt studs and repaired case studs too and had a quick wash. My old case is ready.
