Need a little help please. Travelling across France at the moment and for the last two weeks the van has not missed a beat.

He is a Westy T25 1984 water cooled 1.9 petrol.

When driving today I noticed a knocking / thumping noise from under the van. It's enough to feel vibrations through the floor.

It completely disappears when I press the accelerator and comes back as soon as I lift off.

It doesn't matter what speed. The frequency increases as the speed builds but no matter what speed, as soon as I hit the gas it disappears.

It sounds a little like a flat tyre. Flipping noise is the best way I describe it. It's getting louder over the last 7-8 miles.

Any advice appreciated.

i would check the drive shafts to make sure everything is tight, the bolts can loosen and fall out.

As above, check them carefully especially the outer ones that people don't seem to be able to torque up fully for some reason.
Been there and done that.

Thx for the quick reply. It was my rear wheel almost falling off. All the bolts had come loose
