Epoxy primer

At some point soon I'll need to do a few repairs to the body and will be using tins of epoxy primer rather than using the gun/compressor. Has anyone used the tins? I'm just wondering if the 1 part tins can be used and put back on the shelf or do you have to use the entire tin in one go? Make sense? Ta.

I would imagine that the 1k tins would last unless you lost pressure... 2k obviously wouldn't last after you mix the two parts.

It was seeing 1k and 2k tins that got me thinking about shelf life. I wonder how good the 1k product is.

Don't know.... I've seen the 1k cans but never tried them. I've used 2k lechler 29107 which is good and 2k Jotun Jotamastic 87 which is the toughest paint I've ever seen.

Are we talking epoxy in an aerosol? I didn't know such a thing existed. Have you got any links? It would be really handy for paint as you repair.

Yes you can get a 1k epoxy aerosol just in a normal can.
Then you can get a 2k aerosol can where there is a second button on it that mixes the two components inside. Once you press that button you would probably only be able to use it for a couple of hours.

For 2k probably better to buy yourself a small digital weighing scale and mix up tiny batches by weight as you need it.

Brilliant, confirmation from a restorer is just what I wanted. Thanks.

I haven't got a compressor yet which is why I'm looking at cans for the primer. Ta.
