Can I drive a 3.5 ton van

I'm trying to find this out online but finding it. Little difficult to understand we want to buy a big van a 3.5 ton van and convert it into a camper I have a bog standerd uk driving licence and I am 29 I think the van itself is 3.5 ton so if we're were to fill it full of equipment and wood it would put it over the limit could I still drive it :D

Yes mate you can . As long as you have full UK driving licence. Your limited to a 3.5 ton .

Not necessarily true. I hold a full licence and am restricted to 7.5 ton. It depends upon when you took your test ( and what test) whether or not you have the C1 part of the licence which gives you that higher limit. I need the C1 for driving my Merc which runs at around 4.6 ton.
You would be pushing it if the actual weight is 3.5 ton before conversion - easiest way is to get the C1 part of the test.

Kerbside weight is nice and low though, so you should be fine. ( I am used to my heavyweight bus which is very heavy to start with)
