So I'm over in Wales, working the truck up some challenging hills. On return today, a loud fan noise was eminating from behind the air box. Just wondering if someone could educate me on what it is and why?

1.6jx diesel.

Not the radiator fan, something from inside engine bay in little pocket behind air filter.

My SA Audi engined van has an aux coolant pump which sometimes runs after engine switch off on hot days, I wouldn't be surprised to find that JX vans have the same.

As above, prevents heat soak.

It's some sort of fan, with one power supply connector on top. Seems to be connected to air flow pipes, but very hard to see where everything goes.

What is heat soak?

It's the cooling fan for the turbo ( only on syncros ) if the relay above the fan gets wet the fan will stay on !!
