1.6td oil pressure gauge fitting advice

Just after some advice on fitting an oil pressure gauge to my 1.6td jx.
What's the best way to do it, electrical or mechanical?
Where is the best place to get the gear, what will I need?
Are there any other vw/audi cars to get second hand gauges or senders from, just trying to keep the costs down as the spending is spiralling ever upwards!
