Tin Top to High Top

Hi,
After looking for a half decent high top project and finally convinced that the best route might be to find a solid tin top and add the roof. Has anyone out there done this. It looks pretty straight forward, but all advice greatly welcomed.! More concerned about the roof bracing, if this is stock tin top, or additional? Things like that really.
When it comes to cutting out / fixing new roof, are there any templates/detailed measurements anywhere? Was planning to buy a used high top and measure the donor van
Seems that adhesive is the recommended way of securing the roof, but am sure I would feel happier with some good old fashioned fastenings somewhere!
