What's the standard tyre size please? Is it model dependant?

I'm trying to work out the stock outside diameter for the tyres, but I'm getting conflicting info from the net.
The tyres I currently have on my alloys are massive, so I'd like to get it back to as near as normal as possible.

I think the stock wheel is 14" with 185 x 14 tyre?
If so, that's 643mm according some random tyre site.

Thing is, there seems to be 15" and 16" wheels, their listed tyres are about 674mm.

What am I missing?

All except 16" Syncros originally had 14" wheels, either 185/80r14 tyres or 205/70r14 tyres. Usually the 185s on steel 5.5" rims and 205s on alloy 6.0" rims.

The height of the tyre side wall come in different sizes. For example a 17" wheel with low profile side wall tyre could have the same diameter as a 14" wheel with taller side wall tyre. This side wall size is always written on the tyre. Such as 80, 55, 50 etc This number (side wall height) is actually a percentage of the tyres tread width. So for a given tyre width the lower the profile the smaller the overall diameter of the tyre will be.
