Steering knuckle stiff ??

Hi, all I have been restoring my t3 transporter and this evening I stripped the calipers and hubs off for renovation, whilst doing this I noticed that the passenger side steering knuckle was stiff even with the steering arm removed, has anyone come across this before if so which part is possible worn or could the joints be over tightened ?? Any help would be appreciated thank-you
