Our T25 air-cooled van is missing heater control pods and riser elbows which have been bypassed by a hose. We want to get the heating under control as it is quite good. I can see the parts in Brickwerks and JustKampas but have also seen some genuine used VW ones apparently off a cali import. (Bloke says genuine is better then replacement although he is asking similar prices to new.)

Is it best to go for new re manufactured (possibly from China) or genuine in a reasonable rust free condition?
