Rear Wheels Red hot and smell of burning

Hi All,

just done a short trip (5 miles) and returned home to the smell off burning (like handbrake stuck on type smell) from the rear wheels.

the wheels themselves are hot to the touch so, I am going to assume the brakes are stuck on or the handbrake is having a barney.

Has anyone had this problem and is it easy to rectify i.e. could i do it myself.

many thx in advance.

Arvon

Both wheels at the same time? I doubt it. Guess it is the brakes.

If your mechanically inclined then pull the drums off and make sure nothings seized up with the mechanisms/shoes, would also check the cables as well, as they could be whats causing it if they are sticking, probably going to need to do this to my van before MOT
