water level red falshing light

anyone any ideas on our 1986 T25 syncro 2.1 DJ
Had several issues with the speedo cluster (lights lighting for no reason etc and I have made a repair to the circuit tracks so everything works but one problem remains
Sometimes the water level/temperature red warning light flashes after the engine warms up. On cold start its alright but when engine is warm it seems to come on . the only way to clear it is to disconnect the temperature sender wire underneath the engine and put it back on.
Any way just to be sure I have
1)replaced the temperature sender
2)replaced the water level sender
3) put switch cleaner on the two 7 pin multi connectors in the engine junction box and re connected as these take the feeds from sender and level sensor.
4) have pulled and put back relay 3 (number 43) in the fuse box which is the water level switch relay but have not replaced it yet.
What works
Everything including temperature gauge, and Fuel gauge (and sometimes no flashing red water level light!!!)
I suspect the voltage stabiliser may be at fault or broken track again in the ribbon cable so can someone confirm if the voltage stabiliser is one of the flat transistors on the ribbon cable at the back of instrument cluster or any have any other ideas. Cant see anything else in the circuit diagram on Bently.
cheers
Kevin
