Pop top canvas cleaning and protecting

Hi guys, wondering what everyone uses to clean the canvas on the pop top mines is a little grubby? i have used a mild milton solution on the actual roof felt to get rid of the mildew spots, although i dare say it might need another stronger solution coating to get last stubborn bits, but what i really want to know is what people use on the actual canvas(inside and out) itself to clean it, and then what to use after to protect/weather proof it again

* btw already did a search but most posts seem to relate to the roof itself and not the canvas, dont want to use anything that will damage/weaken it
