tank to filter to pump and on.....injection

Post by boardmonkey »

Hi,

Fitting a brickwerks injection pump plus sourcing fuel lines this week and noticed it has as 12mm inlet vs the 8mm on the filter and tank...

Can you confirm that the below sounds right ?

Fuel tank 8mm hose to a reducer to 12mm with 2 clamps
12mm R9 hose to pump with two clamps (sold in .5M length @ 11.00 !)
On to Filter via 8mm R9 hose with two clamps
8mm hose to engine bay and regulator two clamps
8mm hose from regulator to fuel rails two clamps
8mm hose back from rail to regulator with two hose clamps
8mm hose from regulator to tank with two clamps

Thanks, Richard

The injection tank should be 12mm outlet I think - the petrolheads will come along and confirm no doubt. It was on the one that I fitted a Webasto to. Wrong tank fitted?

I've heard a lot about the 12mm outlet tanks, but on my '84 1.9 injection its an 8mm outlet, stepping up to 12mm for the fuel pump. The fuel return is 8mm inlet to the tank also. I think that's standard for the 1.9, can't speak for the 2.1. Runs well anyway!

Being a 19 WBX it will have a 8mm tank outlet, the 2.1 models were fitted with 12mm outlets. If you buy a decent aftermarket tank (brickwerks) it will have a 12mm outlet. If you are looking to change tank fit the 12mm, if you are going fuel injected, if not your 8mm outlet should run fine as is.
