Hi guys - my t25 is not only my first camper, but my first 4 wheel vehical so here comes a complete newbie question!

I've sprung my first flat tire. I got it home so no emergency rush...

...what's the best way to sort this? The van didn't come with a spare.

Take the wheel and tyre to your local tyre place.

If you've "got it home", you may have completely ruined the tyre if you drove it flat at all as that can damage the side wall.
Sometimes tyres can be repaired depending where any damage occurred.

Some of the larger tyre fitting companies can come to your home to sort it to save you taking the wheel on the bus.

Okay cool cool thanks for the advice! :-)

I'll probably try and get the tire off as I imagine it'll be cheaper to do it myself.

Can I leave the van up on the jack for a couple of days while the tire is out? It's parked on a slope at the moment. The flat is a front tire - i think the handbrake is on the front wheels so that would mean it would roll out is that right?

Handbrake is on the rear wheels!

Chock them with a brick each side or better still a similar sized wedge of wood.

Support the van on axle/chassis stands, not the VW jack or a hydraulic. Very dangerous otherwise.

Dont even bothet trying to remove the tyre, it will need balancing on the wheel after any repair (or if you need a new tyre)

Read the wiki too ;)

Get them (or do it yourself) to check the date codes, my spare was 27 years old when I checked, it looked perfect, generally considered past it at 6-10 years because rubber becomes hard and internally starts to breakdown, worse on tyres that are underused like these vans.

Then when you've done that, get yourself a spare wheel with a decent tyre, and also a jack and wheelbrace. Bound to come in handy.
Also, this might seem like stating the obvious, but seeing as you're new to these vehicles, have you checked for a spare under the front of the vehicle? Drop down wheel carrier?
