How much to fill a gas tank?

Post by Laws1974 »

Hi all
I have a westfalia with a gas tank under the van and just wondering how much it will cost to fill it? I'm possible thinking of removing it and fitting a bottle instead.

Cost around 6-8 quid. You'd be mad to remove it, its such a cheap way to have lpg. That one fill will last you all year.

Thanks for all your input.
I think that answer the question I'll clean it up and keep it and at that price to fill up.
I would be mad to remove it!!

DEFINATELY don't go to a bottle (other than perhaps a small one for emergencies). I used to run on bottles and it was ridiculously expensive. Even worse if you use calor-lite propane which can be hard to get refills for. Spent last winter driving miles across Warwickshire for refills, depots all sorts, with no success. Got very angry with Calor who offered no solutions. Bought the tank. Happy days now - can fill up at so many places and a lot cheaper.

A bottle also takes up space inside.
