Hi all,
Daft one for you, I've got an original Jack, but for the life of me can't work out how to work the thing. I'm now concluding there's a bit missing!! If I insert the jacking bar into the jacking point it feels like its either upside down or missing a locking part so that it stays horizontal.
Am I being completely stupid and using it wrong, or is my jack defective?
Help please ... at the minute I'm carrying a trolley jack around.
P

Re: Original Jack use
Its supposed to be like that, when you start jacking up the foot bites on the ground and keeps it all steady.

Re: Original Jack use
Stick it in the hole and wind your handle. It doesn't steady until it touches the ground.

Re: Original Jack use
Thanks.
That worked... after I removed the body skirt the van has on it. Don't think it sits fully into the jacking holed with skirt still on, so about as effective as ... well you can fill in the rest!
Guess I'll get hold of a bottle jack for travelling with. Hopefully never need it but at least Ill have something.
Now to stick the lump of skirt back on!!

Re: Original Jack use
There is/was a longer one for vans with planks
PS if its not plugged right in then the jacking point will be damaged...

You should have said that you were having trouble because you were wearing a skirt!
