Solar sunroof panels

Anyone know anything about these? As fitted to bigger cars like first gen A6 Allroad and A8, apparently to run the ventiation system to keep the cabin cool while parked up?
It seems very unlikely that they can actually run the a/c given the kw required for the compressor, bbut the pv sunroof must have a half decent output.
I had thought about putting a s/h one into the sunroof aperture on the Dehler...
