Roof rack positions...

Post by VWMartin »

Hey guys - ive ordered myself a 2 bow roof rack which is due in a couple of weeks - which means ive got plenty of time to decide wheres best to position it on the roof...

Has anyone got any pics of their own van with a rack and where its positioned...?

Ive got a tin top so pretty flexible.

Thanks very much.

IMO on the rear.I hope you don't have a drive away awning,as the legs of the rack will stop you attaching it to the van.

I have mine in the middle so I can reach the centre from the sliding doors, have figure of 8 cut so it goes between the legs to allow attaching of awning.

Here is a photo of my three bow roof rack, I second the central position for access from the sliding door or from the front doors.
