Re: Spare wheel carrier
That is a concern I have Fred. Having said that, hanging a bracket off the side is t gonna do it much good either , not without some fairly big spreader plates fitted from the inside . Wot a dilemma .

hi Daz, how you doing mate?
Saw this on that auction site. Base for a project? Maybe sell the bars on after using the frame?

Re: Spare wheel carrier
Thanks bobs and Meggles for that, I'm gonna see if I get a reply from the guy selling the hilux carrier, think that may be the best option . However if that doesn't work I've got plenty more to think about.

Re: Spare wheel carrier
Getting back to the original post, when I was looking for my wheel carrier, I put an advert on the wanted page, and "topped it up" every so often, to make sure it stayed visible. I also put a similar thread on the syncro page. There are always a couple for sale, you just need to make sure everyone knows you're after one. If I was you, I'd stick with a carrier that has been built for the job, and not take a chance on some home made thing, that might fail at any time.

Re: Spare wheel carrier
Just buy a white cover for it and bung it on the high top secured by a ratchet strap
White cover here, gone up by a couple of quid though http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Caravan-Trail ... 3f18c3c77d" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
