drop side pins

Post by more speed »

Hi all,
Does anyone know where you can get hold of the drop side pins other than VW, anyone doing stainless steel ones.
I have a syncro pickup and have replaced the rail's that the drop sides pivot on but had to cut the old pins off on the drop sides to get them off as they where rusted solid.

Just out of Interest, did you manage to get the pins out the gates without using heat? Would be interested to know how as thinking it would be nice to have removable gates but don't want to ruin the paint.

and then after you have deformed the hinges you give up and using a thin cutting disc cut first through the pins and then with the sides off cut along the length of the sleeve after which the pins will pop out with a light tap, then you weld up the cut and paint :ok
