Need to know the model no. of the heater as they all have differing power requirements.

Aye, you need to know how much power (in Amps or Watts) your 24 volt Eber needs.

Here is a list of 12 volt to 24 volt step up devices = http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?LH_Pre ... p=15&_sc=1" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

But some of them may not have sufficient power rating

Note I excluded items from Hong Kong, you may wish to include Hong Kong items, I just found many of their descriptions too vague to buy with confidence.

If you post back with the power rating, one of us will point you in the right direction.

p.s. Your converter can not have "too much" power rating, i.e. if you heater needs 2 amps then one of those purple 10 amp ones on ebay would be fine :)

p.p.s. = This one from Hong Kong looks just fine = http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/120W-DC-12V-D ... 2c6322a681" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; E D I T = read on, it seems this is no use for Ebers that have a Glow Plug

If you wire it to 2 batterys (i.e creating a 24v system) how are you going to charge them when the alternater is 12v?

You would need an inverter / power converter to convert the 24v Eber to 12v.

Listen to Oldie, he's the man when it comes to heaters.
Martin.

Diesel is an engine not a fuel.

I liked camping so much I went full time.

You don't need to "convert the 24v Eber to 12v" - you could just use the 12v to 24v step up device I linked to above ;)

No chance with that type - I've tried a 250W version of one of those - the voltage drops to 8/9v when the glow plug comes on!

This is a good little 150W converter HERE(£5.96) Have used it on Webasto Airtop 2000s.

Without the model no. it is pointless trying to help as with 50 odd models to chose from we are stabbing in the dark.

Bad luck, that is the model with one of the highest power requirements - it needs a stonking 500W at start up.
You are looking at a step up converter costing around £180 - £200.

Better to stick it on Ebay and get one that isn't as power hungry. It is better suited to a dedicated heavy duty 24v system such as lorries have.
The 24v Webasto Airtop 2000 can be run with a £5 step up converter - a far more sensible solution.
