Battery charging issue turned to be blue trigger alternator wire single connector in engine compartment black box. Somehow it had disconnected itself.
Warmed engine to near running temperature. Then adjusted timing and idle.
Sounding very sweet now followers are filled. No coolant or oil issues.

T3BusMeet here l come. :ok

Hello Smiffo. Yes, you have. :ok And yes, l did get to T3BusMeet. 640 miles return trip via South Wales and Stonehenge.

A few snags at the final hurdle, though.

One issue with recon left cylinder (No 2) head peeing out coolant through the exhaust thread hole. Solved thanks to SB suggestion, some Loctite 577 and AJ Simmo telling me to stop prancing around like a big girly. and get on with it!

On initial start up, l couldn't get the injectors to squirt fuel. Then found l had stupidly reset the dissy 180 out (from originally having it correct, and then talking myself in to moving it a second time to an incorrect position). Why this affect delivery? I'm really not sure. So l have moved the leads around, for now. Or maybe leave them as they are forever.

Next, relocation of low pressure oil sensor switch (using a Brickwerks product) from between pushrods to above engine block by thermostat caused a few headaches. So have dumped the system for now and reverted to original setup. Apparently it needs an additional earthing wire to work properly. Thanks for the tip, Stesaw. :ok

Horn stop working??? :rofl A catastrophy!!

T3BusMeet was a bit of a let down. Purely because the weather was blooming awful on Friday. Then squally rain and high winds all Saturday. So the weather watchers stayed away. As far as l could gather, about half the amount of vans attended compared to last year. And very few day visitors.

Once back home in Margate l dropped the oil and changed oil filter. Reset lash on valves to zero plus one and half turns. And refilled with new oil. Then timing set at 2000rpm and 35 degrees with all connectors and vacuum untouched. Sounds really sweet.

:ok

No coolant or oil leaks.
